Privacy Policy
Sayve ("we", "us", or "our") operates the Sayve mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.
1. Information We Collect
Voice Data
When you use the voice input feature, audio is transcribed on-device using iOS's built-in speech recognition. The resulting text transcript is then sent to our AI service (OpenAI) solely for expense parsing. Neither the audio nor the transcript is stored on our servers after processing is complete.
Expense Data
All expense records, categories, and settings you create are stored locally on your device. This data does not leave your device unless you explicitly use a sync or export feature.
Subscription & Purchase Information
We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. When you make a purchase, RevenueCat processes your payment through the Apple App Store. We receive a subscriber identifier and subscription status, but never your payment card details.
Device Information
We may collect anonymized device identifiers for the purpose of enforcing free-tier usage limits and verifying subscription status. This identifier is not linked to your personal identity.
Usage Analytics
We collect aggregate, anonymized usage metrics (such as the number of voice parses per period) to improve the App. This data cannot identify you personally.

3. Third-Party Services
We share data with the following third-party services only as necessary to provide App functionality:
- OpenAI — receives your voice transcripts for AI-powered expense parsing. OpenAI's privacy policy applies to data processed by their API.
- RevenueCat — manages subscription status and purchase validation. RevenueCat's privacy policy applies to subscription data.
- Apple App Store — processes all payments. Apple's privacy policy and App Store terms apply to all purchase transactions.
We do not sell your personal information to any third party.
4. Data Storage & Security
Your expense data is stored locally on your device using the device's secure storage (IndexedDB on web, SQLite on iOS). We do not have access to this data.
Voice data transmitted for processing is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections and is not retained by us after processing.
5. Microphone Permission
The App requests access to your device's microphone solely to record voice messages for expense input. Microphone access is used only when you actively initiate a voice recording. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device's Settings.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
7. Your Rights
Since expense data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it — you can view, edit, and delete it at any time within the App or by uninstalling the App.

8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where required by law, by providing additional notice. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
